The Department came in to being in the year 2009. The un-tired efforts of the predecessors had brought in highly integrated and motivated staff strength and an excellent working atmosphere.The department today has comprises of sophisticated laboratory and workshop facilities ensuring on par with standards of global technical education.
The department is presently headed by Asst.Prof. S S. Siva Kumar.
Goal
To disseminate knowledge and latest technical know-how’s to the aspiring students with the help of dedicated and determined faculty and well-established state-of-the art laboratories. To contribute towards rural upliftment through transfer of appropriate technology and to evolve newer technologies to create a better future for mankind. Department of Mechanical Engineering at S Veerasamy Chettiar College Of Engineering and Technology has a tradition of offering a richly integrated curriculum of technical education . It is well equipped with state-of-the art laboratories and infrastructural facilities. Our students have ample opportunities to investigate and carry out experiments more than that is prescribed in their curriculum. Experimental and computational facilities are being continuously upgraded and Industry interaction has been constantly encouraged. Department is well equipped with a sophisticated library.
